Here we have a simple and effective warmup routine to get your fingers moving and your picking hand ready. In this video, we’ll guide you through a dynamic routine that focuses on alternate picking techniques to not only boost your speed and precision but also enhance your overall guitar playing.

 

Exercise #1

This first exercise should help stretch those fingers out and get your hands in sync before you start ripping your favourite licks. Starting on the 1st fret of the E string, we’ll walk our way across and up the neck to the 13th fret on the high E string. We then walk our way down the neck to resolve on the 8th fret of the B string. This exercise can be used in any key and if you’re comfortable with the pace of the video, feel free to up the tempo. Make sure to keep those notes clean though!
